A Class A Motorhome

A Class A Motorhome

Class A Motorhomes are the largest and most luxurious of all Recreational Vehicles. With an average height of ten feet and ranging in length from twenty to forty feet in length, this class of RV requires at least fourteen feet of clearance. We recommend that your custom garage be designed 45 to 50 feet long, depending on the amount of storage you need.

A Class B Camper Van

A Class B Camper Van

The Class B Camper is a family-friendly unit with an average height of eight feet. It ranges from 16 to 21 feet in length. Our experts design garages for these RVs with a clearance height of at least 12 feet, with recommendations for lengths between 25 and 30 feet.

A Class C Motorhome

A Class C Motorhome

A Class C motorhome is recognizable for its distinctive bunk-over-cab appearance. It has an average height of 10 feet, and ranges from 21 to 35 feet in length. This RV requires a garage clearance of 14 feet in height. We recommend an RV garage length between 40 and 45 feet.

  • Regular Roof
Our budget-friendly option is recognized for its elegantly curved edges. Built from galvanized steel, it is certified to withstand the weather in mild climates.
  • A-Frame Horizontal Roofs
The A-frame roof is also known as “boxed-eave”. It resembles the shape of a traditional home roof, as it is expertly rated to withstand high winds. It is recommended for areas with moderate weather.
  • Vertical Roofs
Our premier roof option, the vertical roof, is certified to withstand high winds and heavy snow loads. It is constructed with vertically aligned panels so that precipitation is directed toward the ground, and you’ll never have to worry about debris accumulation.

Your RV cover doesn’t have to be boring. What color or colors would you like for the roof, trim, and any side paneling? We have many popular options you can choose from, including two-tone wainscotting.

  • Rebar anchors
Steel rebar anchors are used to reinforce buildings and keep your building securely anchored. 1/2″ x 32″ rebar anchors from AA Metal Buildings will stabilize your RV garage; during installation, anchors are driven through holes in the base rail into the foundation.  Our specialists recommend rebar anchors for locations with solid soil and low winds.
  • Mobile home anchors
Mobile home anchors, sometimes called “auger anchors”, are reliable anchors for soil or dirt foundations.  While you may not opt for a poured foundation for your RV garage, you will need a level site. Should you choose a soil foundation, the mobile home anchor is best for securing your structure to the ground. These anchors are the only type certified for ground installations and will keep your building securely anchored during all types of weather.
  • Concrete anchors
These anchors are recommended for concrete foundations, not asphalt, so be sure to let your AA Metal Buildings representative know which foundation you choose for your RV garage. Our crew will place different lengths of concrete wedge anchors depending on the dimensions of your foundation. Concrete anchors secure your building to its foundation during high winds.
  • Asphalt anchors
Asphalt anchors are specially designed for the material and should not be used for any other foundation. As asphalt is a mixture of stones, gravel, and sand, the wrong anchors and pressure could cause it to fracture. Asphalt anchors are designed with threads on their shafts for a secure hold during high winds. AA Metal Buildings experts are happy to talk to you about any of our anchor options and which is best for you!

14 steel gauge square tubing is standard for our beautiful buildings. However, if you live in an area with extreme weather and are concerned about the durability of your structure, we offer a thicker, tougher 12 gauge, as well. (The lower the number, the thicker the steel). If you’d like to see the stats on our certified buildings with these gauges, reach out to our building experts!

We offer roofs with both 29 and 26 gauge panels. Again, our steel gauges reflect a thickness and durability different, but appear relatively the same. Both sheets reflect light and heat. Both are classified as fire-resistant and mildew-resistant. However, a 26 gauge roof will resist impact better than a 29 gauge roof.

Does your location require metal structure certification? We can engineer your RV garage to meet any minimum wind or snow loads. Even if certification isn’t a legal requirement, it’s still recommended by our building specialists.

Certified vs. Uncertified Metal RV Garage: What’s the Difference?

A certified building is engineered to meet specific snow and/or wind loads. Some municipalities will require buildings to meet a snow load, such areas in the northern U.S. and other areas, which face hurricanes or tornadoes, may expect higher wind certifications. Wherever you live, it’s important to meet your local building requirements. Good news! AA Metal Buildings is here to help!

Reasons for certification:

  • Building code requirements
  • High snow loads
  • High wind loads

A certified building may cost more than a non-certified building, since it requires more steel reinforcement, but your end product will be a stronger building.

What is a Non-Certified Building?

A non-certified building can be built in zones where there are no requirements to meet certain building codes. Your local building department will have the information you need to determine whether you require a certified building. While a non-certified structure may be cheaper, our experts recommend that every valued customer purchase a certified structure. Non-certified buildings may not be as safe during extreme weather events, and in some cases, complicate real estate sales in the future.

RV Garage Kits

Why should you purchase an RV garage kit? First, you’ll save money. RV garage kits are discounted because they are pre-engineered and prefabricated. Second, lead times on kits are much shorter; in fact, the building you love might already be in stock!

Third, and best of all, you can install the garage on your own time. Don’t stand around waiting for a crew to fit you into their busy schedule. You can have your building completed as soon as you fit the final bolt into place. You don’t need training or any special tools. Grab a few friends and DIY!

And finally, you don’t need to worry about missing out on custom options. All stylish options from AA Metal Buildings, such as gables, J-trim, and extra windows, will still be available to you if you buy a kit.
