Depends on what’s going inside today—and what you’ll buy next year.

Yard gear + mower: 10×20 or 12×20 works.

Mower + shelves + workbench: 12×24 or 12×26.

Small shop / multi-use storage: 20×20, 20×30, or 24×30.

Pro tip: sketch your floor plan and leave 3-4 ft walk paths. I’ve never had a customer mad they went bigger; plenty have called wishing they had.

Ballpark ranges (options and local codes move the needle):

10×20–12×20 basic enclosed: roughly $3,500–$6,000

12×24–12×26 with better doors/windows: $5,500–$8,500

20×30–24×30 with height/insulation/roll-ups: $9,000–$14,000+

Add vertical roof, insulation, extra doors, or heavier steel and you’ll climb from there. Still way cheaper than stick-built, and you’re using it in days—not months.

Usually, yes—most counties flag anything anchored or 200 sq. ft. and up. Some places are easy, others want engineered drawings and a site plan. We can provide the plans; you handle the submittal (or loop in your GC). Don’t pour a slab before your permit’s green-lit.

We don’t do slabs, but here’s the playbook:

Best: 4″ reinforced concrete slab (broom finish). Flat, durable, easy to keep clean.

Budget: Compacted gravel (drains well; must be level).

Temporary: Level dirt works in a pinch but shifts with weather.

If you ever want power, benches, or heavy shelving, concrete pays you back.

If you’re in mild, dry country, regular or boxed-eave will do. If you’ve got trees, heavy rain, or snow, go vertical roof—panels run ridge-to-eave so water and debris don’t sit and chew up seams. It’s a little more upfront and a lot less headache later.

All day long. Common setups: a roll-up (8×8 or 9×8) for equipment, plus a walk door for daily in/out. Add side-entry, windows for light, taller leg height (10’–12′), and interior partitions if you want zones. If you think you’ll add a bigger door later, tell us now—we’ll frame that bay correctly.

Yes—if we design it for your location and tie it down right. Most builds use 14-ga framing with 29-ga sheeting; in rougher wind/snow zones we bump to 12-ga frame and 26-ga panels, add extra bracing (knee/roof/portal), and use the right anchors for your base—wedge anchors in concrete, earth augers in gravel/dirt. A vertical roof helps too; it sheds water and snow so they’re not working the seams. That’s the difference between a building that shrugs off a storm and one that keeps you up at night.

If you’re just parking a mower, maybe not. If you’re storing tools, leather seats, electronics, or you’ll be in there a while, yes. Foil-backed bubble knocks down condensation. Fiberglass batts or closed-cell spray foam are better if you care about temperature swings. Foam costs more but seals every gap.

With permits done and the pad ready, small to mid-size buildings often install in a day; bigger/custom builds 1–2 days. Lead times vary by season—figure 2–6 weeks from order to install.

Financing: we offer traditional financing and Rent-to-Own (credit-flexible). Most folks spread payments out and keep their cash for the slab or site prep.
