But if you’ve got a lifted truck, tall van, or plan to back an RV under there, you’ll want to bump that height up. I always tell folks — measure the tallest thing you plan to park, then add at least a foot for breathing room. You’ll be glad you did when you’re not ducking every time you pull in.

Right now, a basic 20×20 with a regular roof runs around $2,000–$3,500 installed. Add-ons like a vertical roof, side panels, or custom colors will bump that up, but it’s still way cheaper than building a garage from scratch.

Yes, you can — as long as it’s good and level. Gravel’s my go-to when folks want something that drains well without spending a fortune. Dirt’ll work in a pinch, but keep in mind it can shift over time, so you’ll be out there with a shovel now and then to keep things straight.

If it’s anchored right and built to your local code, absolutely. I’ve seen them take on 90+ mph winds and heavy snow without an issue. Just make sure you choose the right roof style and bracing for your area.

If you can swing it, give yourself a good 3 feet all the way around. Makes life easier when you’re pulling in, opening doors, or hauling stuff out of the back. I’ve seen folks set their carport just inches from a fence, and now they’ve gotta squeeze sideways to get in and out — not worth it.

Anything permanent that’s anchored to the ground will usually need one. Every county’s different though — some barely ask for paperwork, others want every detail drawn up. I’ve already got engineered plans for most places we build, so once you know what they want, we can usually get it approved without much drama.

If your spot’s ready and level, we can knock out a standard 20×20 or 22×24 in half a day. Throw in uneven ground, bad weather, or a bunch of custom add-ons, and it might take us the better part of a day. Either way, you’ll be parking under it way faster than if you went with a stick-built garage.

Absolutely. You can choose roof styles, colors, leg height, add partial or full sides, and even close it in later to make a full garage. I’ve built some pretty unique setups — everything from matching house colors to adding lean-tos on the sides.
